In Nov. 1961, Leigh Wiener (1929-1993), a well-known photojournalist, shot a bullfight in Tijuana, Mexico, with an 800mm self-improvised telephoto lens. The detailed close-ups starkly depict the brutality of the sport, against the backdrop of amused and horrified spectators (including a young Dennis Hopper who happened to be at the bullring that day). It was the last event of the day and started at 4:29:40 pm. The fight was over by 4:53:15.
